I’ve run a lot of different Canvasback products over the years. Arguably one of their best items is the rear bench seat cover. It’s made in Minnesota and offers a custom, vehicle specific fit with a bunch of color options.
If you have pets, kids, or frequently transport stuff the back of your truck, this is a perfect fit to keep your interior clean and protected. Especially if you have leather seats.

Ease Of Install & Removal
Putting one of these covers on (or removing it) is super straightforward. You align the bottom, and tuck in the anchors (one seen above) between the upper and bottom seat portions. Then you strap the top part to the head rests until it’s tight. The whole process maybe takes 5 minutes if you’re moving slowly. More like 2 minutes once you do it a couple times. Removal is even faster.
Fitment
For being a cover that lays over the seats (unlike a true form fit cover) the fitment is very good. Naturally, you have to understand what it is that you’re getting. These aren’t full seat replacements or factory fit covers, but something simpler that’s easy to take in and out, as well as clean.
Properly installed, the material is relatively tight as it conforms around the seats. The bottom even has a lip that protects the entire factory seat. For the price and application, fitment overall is very good and doesn’t feel like your average universal option.
The grip mesh on the back does a good job of keeping the cover in place. I imagine it would grip even better on fabric materials.
Durability
I’m always carrying something in the back of my truck. That could be while driving around locally for work or projects around the house, or on a long distance road trip to do some camping and off-roading. I also bring my dog in the back pretty frequently.
Toyota interior are known for not being the most durable. They often scratch pretty easily. So protecting them is a must if you want to keep your truck looking like new. That said, Canvasback stuff has always done the job. Very easy to clean, and I’ve never had any issues with zippers or otherwise.
On a small tangent, one of my favorite Canvasback products are their rear door covers. They do wonders for keeping the plastic safe from abrasive damage or things like pet nails.
Overall, a solid product that provides protection for a reasonable price.
Colors
As I write this post, there are 13 different color options. It seems like they have more since I looked the last time. If you want to stay neutral, you can’t go wrong with black. I just noticed they have a color I haven’t seen before… Olive Drab. Man, I wish they had that one when I ordered! It would go really great with my Bronze Oxide exterior. But, I do like the Black Plaid a lot. I wanted to do something that stood out a bit more from the standard black I’ve chosen in the past.
Final Thoughts
I’ve had experiences with the cheap covers on Amazon. Because of their poor fitment, I never used them. Basically wasted my money for no reason. Even with something like seat covers, there are different levels of options. As far as this category goes, Canvasback does an awesome job. My recommendation is always that you only buy once, and get what actually works.
