Liners For Your Truck That Are Hand Made In The USA

Do you have dogs? Kids? Do you haul anything in the back seat of your Tacoma, like tools? If you answered yes to any variation of these questions, you need to know Canvasback.

Based in Minnesota, this American-made company has been around since 2006, creating high-quality liners to protect your vehicle. From cargo liners to back seat covers and protective door panels, Canvasback has plenty of products to protect your interior from unnecessary damage and wear and tear.

These items are handmade, with only the highest quality materials. They also come in a wide variety of colors. In this post, I’ll quickly run you through three different products for the back half of your Tacoma’s interior. That will include the door covers, the rear bench seat cover, and the new back seat cab liner/hammock.

Rear Door Covers

The doors take a fair amount of beating. My door plastics are definitely more damaged than others in my truck. And I worry my dog will scratch them up if she ever gets too excited.

These covers are simple but super effective. The top of the covers clip into the channel where the window is. There are skinny plastic tabs on the back of the covers. They slide right in between the window and the window seal. There is plenty of room, and the plastic tabs have felt ends to protect your truck. The bottom of the covers comes with two sewn-in velcro sections. You simply get the cover in the correct position, peel the backing off, and stick the other end to the door.

These are super easy to remove if you need to, and they pretty much cover the entire exposed portion of the rear doors.

Rear Bench Seat Cover

This is probably my favorite piece. This covers fits and splits perfectly across the entire rear seat.

Not only can the top be separated from the bottom (to feed seat belts through and presumably to clean/store), but the cover splits along the factory seat split. This means that you can still have full access to and use of the back seat by just unzipping the zipper. Even to access behind and underneath them.

The back side of the covers has a textured mesh that helps to secure the cover to the seats. It also has sewn-in handles sandwiched between the seats as you fold the bottom of the seat back down to its normal position. These also help to ensure the cover doesn’t move around.

Cab Liner/Hammock

This particular product is pretty much brand new. With the seats folded all the way down, this cover has end-to-end protection for the back seat area. It hangs kind of like a hammock, hence the name – a great product to consider not just for dogs but more oversized items like tools.

This liner attaches at the back of the front headrests, contours around the back, and with more velcro, secures across the plastic paneling that covers the area behind the back seat. There are also velcro sections that secure the cover on the bottom to the truck’s carpet. The front portion of the hammock also helps to form a border between the front and rear seats, preventing your items or dogs from easily making their way to the front.

Installing these items is a breeze. It couldn’t get much more accessible. You don’t need any tools or technical knowledge.

I don’t have kids, but my dog naturally makes a mess in the back. This is especially true of her short hair, which literally gets stuck everywhere but mostly in the fabric seats. It takes forever to clean. With these covers, I don’t have to worry about constantly cleaning the back. A similar thought goes for the door covers. My dog can’t scratch the doors no matter how excited she gets, and the bigger items I haul can’t damage my doors when they slide around.

This is one of those mods that realize what you were missing out on once you installed it. The product is undoubtedly premium, and you can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the development and the manufacturing. Doing things by hand lends itself to a great product. I am also beyond happy to support a small American business.

Long story short. If you have animals, kids, or haul items in your back seat – any combination of these is a no-brainer.

Final Thoughts

Hand Made, Made In America, Protective Covers & Liners From Canvasback For 3rd Gen Tacoma

There are other products on the market that are similar, at least when it comes to the back seat. They are typically universal and made in China. I have never liked those covers; they are nowhere near the quality of the Canvasback covers. For a little extra money, I would definitely encourage everyone to buy a product that is specifically made for a 3rd Gen Tacoma, and is crafted with a lot of care and attention.

If you’re waiting for the right product, no question – this is the one to get.

Anytime I go on a trip or sometimes running errands around town I have my dog with me. She has been good about not damaging anything… yet. She is a very high energy herding dog so it’s only a matter of time. Plus she sheds and covers my back seats with fur and sometimes mud or dirt if we are out on an adventure. This product looks great and it would help alot if my issues and worries. Great write up as always Konrad!
