Add Much Needed Recovery Points To Your New 2024+ Tacoma

In one of my last posts, I covered a set of front recovery points from SXTH Element. They’ve been great, but the rear set helps to completely the utility and the look.

Some 4Gs come with factory rear recovery points. But I’ve only seen them on TRD Pros, Trailhunters, and a few Off-Roads.  I believe those are part of an ARB collab. They’re not bad, but I think the SXTH RRP set looks better and the anodized finish offers a cleaner look.

So, if you don’t have one of the mentioned trucks, you actually don’t have any factory point to pull from. If you plan on doing any off-roading, or you simply like the look – these are a solid upgrade.

Great Packaging

SXTH Element Rear Recovery Points (RRP)

Quality packaging is a good first sign when you get your hands on something for the first time. SXTH does a great job here.

Everything came in good condition, and there are specific cut outs and protective foam around all the components. That even includes the hardware.

You’ll also find some cards inside with valuable usage info.

Installation

4G Tacoma Rear Point Mounting Location

Just like with the fronts, the rear installation is pretty simple. The bolts are larger, and require more torque, but that’s about it. Unless you are removing a factory set (small number of people), these are easier to install than the front in a way since there are no factory points to take off.

SXTH has a video on the install process – check it out here.

Benefits Of Upgrading

SXTH Element RRP Review

  • most obviously, most Tacomas do not come with any rear recovery points (like mine)
  • improved safety during recoveries
  • easy to install
  • very clean aesthetic (form meets function)
  • high clearance from obstacles (sits in line with frame rails)
  • helpful where rear recovery is the only option
  • rear bumper compatibility will depend on how they are mounted

Review

Red Recovery Points On Bronze Oxide Tacoma

I’ll keep this part shorter since it’s a relatively simple product, and I already covered a lot of bases.

SXTH makes great stuff. Their customer service is helpful, and they work efficiently. They have a solid accessory lineup for the newer gen trucks, even beyond recovery stuff (intakes, intercoolers, trail pipes, etc.). Make sure you check out their full offering.

But back to the RRPs. They install fast and easy, they’re super beefy (one is like the size of my forearm), and I’m really happy with how they fall in with the rest of my red accents. The black is a good option for those who want to be more stealthy.

I’m heading to Montana soon, and many other trails this summer, and I’ll certainly put them to good use. Loading them will really test their durability, but I haven’t heard anything bad about these online. Material choices and testing also reinforce the product validity. But as I said, I’m going to put them to the test shortly myself.

Final Thoughts

4th Gen Tacoma Recovery Points

Not only do these rear recovery points help equip my truck for the trails, but they help to bring the color scheme I’m going for together.

Nothing but good things to say about these guys and their products. If you’re in the market for some rad accessories, make sure to check out SXTH Element. Let me know if you have any questions!
