Chase Light Purpose

Xprite Chase Light Amber LED Output

As off-roading gains traction and becomes more popular, more people will be on the trails, solo or in groups. People who wheel seriously make safety a top priority. Adding lights to increase your visibility benefits everyone.

Xprite Amber Red White Combo Lightbar

Most trail expeditions have times of limited visibility, whether there’s precipitation or dust. I even find myself running the running/brake light mode on remote highways due to sun glare in the desert for added safety. The RX-G7 ties in well with my MESO Customs Total Tail conversion, OPT7 Tailgate Light Bar, and Baja Designs S2 Pros in my bumper.

Durability & Design

Xprite RX-G7 Review

The housing is made from high-quality, durable aluminum, giving it strength and lightweight performance. This means the light bar can take a beating from rocks, branches, and whatever else the trail throws at it. It’s also corrosion-resistant, so if you’re driving through salty coastal air or splashing through mud, you won’t have to worry about the light bar rusting out over time.

A solid design doesn’t just mean it can handle the tough stuff—it also means it looks good while doing it. The RX-G7 looks like a row of Baja Designs S1s, which matches the rest of the lighting on my truck. As such, I’ve dubbed it the “RT-Linkable.”

With a sleek, modern look, the bar has an aggressive presence that’ll complement the aesthetics of any off-road build. It’s the perfect mix of form and function and the best-looking lightbar on the road when not in use.

Customizable Lighting Modes

Tacoma Chase Light Setup

Here’s where the RX-G7 stands out from the crowd. There’s no light spill due to individual LEDS with its customizable lighting modes. Whether you want to make a statement, improve safety, or have fun, the RX-G7’s lighting options let you choose the right vibe for the job.

There is a 3-way “tall” style switch that you can mount in your cab with the following modes:

  • Running Mode: When the lightbar is turned on, the 4 outer red LEDs function like your taillights and add visibility. This is especially useful in off-road racing or group trail rides when you need to make sure others can spot you in the dust or dark. These can also be tied into your vehicle’s brake lights to illuminate brighter with your brakes. In addition, they can serve as turn signals if you wire them up as such.
  • Strobe Mode: The 4 inner amber LEDs are helpful, especially in emergency situations. With 7 different patterns to choose from, the amber fast-flashing strobe lights can catch the attention of other vehicles or nearby rescue crews. They’re also a good way to signal other vehicles on narrow trails or when you’re parked off to the side.
  • Reverse Mode: The 6 central white LEDs act as a solid beam of light to see what’s behind you. The steady mode provides continuous white illumination, perfect for syncing with your reverse lights or tying into an existing chase light setup.

Installation Overview

Mounting Rear Chase Light Bar On iKamper

We all know how frustrating a complicated installation can be. Fortunately, the Xprite bar is designed for even a novice to install. Whether you’re mounting it on the rear of your truck, roof rack, or somewhere else, all the necessary hardware and detailed instructions are included to get you up and running in no time.

I was able to mount my bar directly under my iKamper Skycamp Mini 3.0, which sits on my 5″ BillieBars, and it hasn’t moved at all since it was installed.

If you’re handy with wiring, you can wire the light bar directly to your vehicle’s electrical system or to a switch panel. For most applications, you will want the extension UTV-RSL-G1-EXT-10FT.
